Taxation
Tax is where most advice arrives too late. A structure gets set up, a property gets sold, a business gets restructured—and the conversation happens afterwards, when the options have already narrowed.
We work the other way round. Compliance is handled properly and on time, but the value sits in the decisions made before the lodgement: how an entity is structured, when an asset is disposed of, what a transaction triggers across two jurisdictions rather than one.
Compliance
- Income tax returns — individuals, companies, trusts, partnerships, and self-managed funds
- Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Instalment Activity Statements (IAS)
- Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) returns and employee contribution calculations
- Payroll tax registration, lodgement, and annual reconciliation
- Taxable payments annual reports (TPAR) and other industry-specific obligations
- ATO correspondence, payment arrangements, objections, and private ruling applications
Advisory
- Capital Gains Tax — disposal timing, small business concessions, rollovers, main residence and six-year rules
- GST — property transactions, going concern, margin scheme, input-taxed supplies
- Division 7A — loan agreements, minimum repayments, and remediation of prior-year exposures
- Trust distributions — resolutions before 30 June, s100A considerations, family trust elections
- Entity structuring for tax outcomes and asset protection
- Cross-border matters — residency, foreign income, CGT for non-residents, withholding obligations
- State taxes — stamp duty, land tax and surcharge, payroll tax thresholds and grouping
The obligations are the same for everyone. What differs is when you look at them.
Accounting & Reporting
Most sets of accounts are prepared to satisfy a deadline. Ours are prepared to be read.
Financial statements tell you where the business has been. Prepared properly and delivered while the information still matters, they also tell you what to do next—which is the point.
- Annual financial statements for companies, trusts, partnerships, and sole traders
- Special purpose and general purpose reporting, prepared to the applicable framework
- Management reporting — monthly or quarterly, at whatever depth is useful
- Xero setup, migration, chart of accounts design, and ongoing file health
- Bookkeeping oversight and reconciliation review
- Year-end workpapers prepared to audit standard
- Audit liaison — preparing the file, managing requests, and dealing with the auditor on your behalf
Business Advisory
Advice is only useful if the person giving it understands the business.
We take a small number of clients so that when a decision arises—a new entity, a lease, an acquisition, a partner exiting—the context is already there. There is no briefing period.
- Structure reviews and restructuring, including CGT rollover planning
- Cash flow forecasting and working capital analysis
- Budgeting, scenario modelling, and break-even analysis
- Profitability review — pricing, margin, and cost base
- Business acquisition and disposal support, including due diligence and vendor preparation
- Succession and exit planning
- Finance application support — preparing the numbers lenders actually ask for
- Benchmarking against ATO industry ratios, before the ATO does it
